Live Through This Houseplant
Live Through This Houseplant
In this gouache + screenprint series, I am exploring locating my houseplants in zoomed-in interior scenes, and thinking about how things we carry in pockets and purses and backpacks (and then dump out onto the counter) reveal what’s important to us. This panel features a colorful tradescantia plant in a ceramic pot set against an emerald green screenprinted wallpaper background (yes, those are abortion pills!), surrounded by some bobby pins and a bottle of neon orange “Live Through This” nail polish.
Acrylic gouache and printing ink on a 5x7” cradled birch panel, sealed with matte varnish. Panels are 7/8” deep and are easy to hang or stand on their own. 1” disco ball for scale!
